Research Interests

I am broadly interested in research questions that deal with the impacts of human dimensions on wildlife communities. My dissertation research focuses on breeding populations of American Oystercatchers along the east coast. Part of this research focuses on the more immediate impacts of beach use on oystercatcher nesting behavior. I also use population models to investigate the long term impacts of various management strategies for American Oystercatchers populations. Additionally, this research will investigate the benefits on other shorebird species of managing American Oystercatchers as an umbrella species.
